The application process for the 2008 Ball Kid Program is CLOSED. Please check back in January, 2009 for next years tournament!
All Ball Kids will receive a uniform - shirt, shorts/skirt, hat, socks and shoes. Additionally, they will receive two grounds passes so their parents can attend the matches. Please note that we do not provide parking passes.

Location: Player Media Dining (south side of stadium by west gate)
Ball Kid Orientation:
Saturday, March 8th 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Mandatory Attendance Required - meet at court 4.
How to become a Ball Kid:
Step 1: Complete Online Ball Kid Application Here
Step 2: Watch and understand the animation showing changeover duties HERE
Step 3: Download and read the Ball Kid Training Manual
Step 4: Take the online Study Guide Quiz & pass with 90% (Must download, print fill out and bring it to uniform pickup!)
*Open book quiz - you will need to have the Training Manual in order to answer the questions!
Step 5: Attend enough training sessions to be proficient

Setp 7: Fill out Schedule Request HERE DUE BY 2/20/08!
Step 8: Fill out the Ball Kid permission Slip - Bring to uniform pickup
Step 9: Fill out and sign the Ball Kid Code of Conduct form - Bring to uniform pickup
Step 10: Pick up uniform, parking pass & schedule - March 5 & 6.
Step 11: Attend Ball Kid Orientation on Saturday, March 8th, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Step 12: Have fun!
Requirements to be a Ball Kid:
1. Between the age of 12 & 20 years old.
2. All Ball Kids must work a minimum of 5 days - three weekdays between March 10-14, and must work on Saturday and Sunday, March 15 & 16.
3. Willingness and ability to learn.
4. Physically able to perform duties on court.
Skills needed to become a Ball Kid:
1. Must have good agility, and some athletic ability.
2. Be able to roll 20 tennis balls the length of a tennis court in a 4 foot wide area.
3. Be able to bounce tennis balls to another person from different distances.
4. Understanding roles of each Ball Kid position (nets & backs).
5. Tennis scoring knowledge.
6. Ability to stand still for long periods of time - while paying attention to the tennis match in progress.
7. Be a good listener.
SCHEDULING PLAN ** SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Most matches this year will start at 11:00 a.m. In an effort to appropriately staff, and to make it easier to you to plan your schedule around school, we have instituted the following shifts from March 12 – 20th:

Report at 10:00 a.m. finish at 4:45 p.m.
Report at 12:00 p.m. finish at 5:30 p.m.
Report at 4:30 p.m. finish at 9:00 p.m.
Report at 6:30 p.m. finish at the end of play.
The first two days of the tournament will have a 10:00 a.m. start. The schedules are as follows:

Report 4:00 p.m. finish at 9:00 p.m.
Report 6:00 p.m. finish at end of play ** if required
For local kids we give schedule priority in this order: College & High School, Middle School, Home School, and Elementary School.
We will give schedule Final Schedules out on March 5 & 6, 2008.
